Senior Offshore Structural Engineer - Huxley Associates

A leading International Operator is looking for a Senior Offshore Structural Engineer to be based in Milan.

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for performing and checking all engineering activities and their documentation for offshore platforms in shallow, deep and ultra-deep water oil & gas.

Key responsibilites include:
- Select and design the best technical solution relevant to offshore platforms.- Follow up platform design carried out by sub-contractors.- Coordiante design activities ensuring technical support during execution phases.- Define tender documentation and carry out technical evaluation of tenders.- Act as the Technical Authority and, if needed, the Technical Coordinator as far as structural aspects are concerned.- Ensure interface between different Contractors and Certifying Authority.- Liaises with project management team to identify the motives for any given work request, ensuring the scope of work agreed is suitable and the task is completed within the agreed time frame.


The ideal candidate profile is as follows:
- At least 4 years work experience in the detail design of oil & gas offshore platforms structures- Offshore platform design experience in the following aspects: Linear analyse, seismic, natural frequencies and dynamic analyse, reliability analyse, offshore foundation design, Progressive Collapse and Push-Over, Detailed FEM analyses to evaluate peculiar aspects (impact analyse, blast analyse, damage behaviour).- A general knowledge of offshore structural materials, fabrication and installation aspects.- Knowledge of relevant computer tools eg SESAM, ANSYS.- The ability to coordinate engineering activites at the same time to guarantee system integrity- A considerable breath of engineering knowledge.- An innovative approach to engineering problem solving.
